There was a time when the value of work was directly proportional to both the time spent to achieve a result and the effort made to produce it. Nevertheless, the market price of the product is often governed by the fluctuation of its financial value, which is determined by transactions on a Stock exchange located who-knows-where-in-the-world.
The apparent paradox is the basis of many labor struggles, and of the depreciation of labor costs in our country. Is it right that those who plough lands, together with the people who make a pack of pasta should depend on the fluctuating ephemeral value of the products of their work?
